Down the road from the Jazz Museum is Arthur Bryant’s –
allegedly Kansas City’s best barbecue joint. Arthur Bryant’s has received a lot
of accolades over the years, so we expected it to be pretty touristy. (A famous
restaurant critic for The New Yorker caused a stir when he declared it the greatest restaurant in
the entire world.) Thankfully, it’s a run-down looking hole in the wall. The
obligatory photos of celebrity patrons are on the wall, but apart from that
you’d never know this place is famous. Only 85 people can sit in the small
dining area. We ordered at a counter where customers kept streaming in. The
food was cheap, came heaped up on a paper place and was awesome.
